High School Biology

Description: In this class, your students will dive into the study of biology and be introduced to a host of fascinating topics. They’ll begin by exploring the smallest unit of life—the cell. After spending time studying cellular biology and genetics, they’ll learn about each kingdom of living organisms. They’ll complete their year’s study of biology with a unit on human anatomy.[Description from Journey’s Website] Students will watch approximately two instructional videos per week at home and take notes with the provided note-taking guide.  There will also be some assigned reading and homework.  During class time, we will do many labs, including dissections and microscope work.  We will also go over homework, discuss the material, and take quizzes and occasional tests.  

Curriculum Fee: $180 for the online curriculum, which includes videos and all printed materials. This is a discounted co-op rate. Please do not order this on your own, as the co-op version is different from the individual version. We will purchase the curriculum for everyone who signs up, and families will pay Cornerstone Academy. Click here to preview the curriculum. Course Fee:  $225 per semester (This is a two-hour class.) *This teacher is a vendor with Feather River and South Sutter and is accepting charter funds for course fees, but not for the curriculum.
