History (5th-8th)

Description: Students will learn a chronological history of the world beginning with a recap of the end of the Roman Empire, going through the Age of Exploration (roughly 400 AD to early 1600s). One to two chapters of the textbook will either be read together at the beginning of class time or assigned to be read at home in preparation for class. Class time will include oral review of the reading, map work, and fun activities. Some topics will be explored further with video and additional reading or visual sources. Parents will need to purchase the textbook and either the complete activity book or the student sheets. If parents wish to do additional activities, discuss, or have access to additional suggested reading materials, the complete activity book should be purchased. If parents wish for their students to only use the sheets covered in class, the student sheet option can be purchased instead.
