 High School Physical Science

Description: Physical Science is an introduction to Chemistry and Physics that will lay the foundation students will need to study these subjects in their later high school years.  We will cover unit conversions, properties and states of matter, atoms, the periodic table, bonds, balancing chemical equations, naming compounds, acids and bases, nuclear changes, motion, acceleration, Newton’s laws, motion, heat, waves, reflection diagrams, refraction, electricity and more!

We will be using a curriculum called Journey Homeschool Academy.  It is an in-depth and detailed science curriculum that is designed so that students can use it independently at home.  Once the curriculum is purchased, students and parents will have access to video lessons, a fill-in-the-blank note-taking guide, online automatically graded quizzes and tests, a lab guide, atextbook reading schedule, and additional resources.  During our class time together we will complete labs/experiments, learn to write lab reports, and review all the concepts from the video content to help students gain a better understanding and be prepared for the quizzes and tests.

Curriculum Cost: $279 (full year access) + book 

Class Tuition: $150 per semester (this is a 50 % discount, as our 2 hour classes usually cost $300). 

*Charter funds accepted for Feather River and South Sutter for tuition, but not for the curriculum.
